Bright Spark

I am running the following courses in Derby in the Spring and Summer terms of 2008. They all concentrate on a special aspect of Philosophy for Children. They would appeal to those who have previously taught Philosophy for Children as well as those who want to find out more about its potential. If you wish to attend any, please download and return the BOOKING FORM. You can use this form for all the courses you wish to book.

Concepts in question. A one-day course key stages 2 and 3
Building concepts through Philosophy for Children

This series of courses will include suggestions for stimulus material and activities to draw out complex thinking about important concepts. It will help teachers of Philosophy for Children to plan themed sequences of enquiries and find a balance between questioning, enquiry and persistence in tackling important philosophical issues. The course may also be of special interest to teachers who want deeper thinking about some concepts in the SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) project or who are working on combining some subjects into a concept-rich curriculum.
